Counselling Service
Turadh is a Person-centred counselling service based in Perth and also available to surrounding areas.
I currently offer outdoor therapy where we can either “walk and talk” i.e. meet outside for a walk and a counselling session or we can sit outside, in nature, and connect within peaceful, soothing surroundings – a good alternative to face to face counselling in a room. I offer single session, short-term and long-term therapy – you don’t have to decide on this before we start working together and it is something that we can review regularly, all your choice. Sessions are mostly 1 hour but this can be discussed to suit your needs.
Life can be difficult and we may find ourselves struggling day to day with many different challenges. It is not always easy or possible to speak to family or friends and deciding to get professional counselling can help you to deal with circumstances or experiences that may feel difficult to handle on your own, or even to make sense of. Counselling can help you understand what is going on for you, make sense of your own feelings and emotions, and it can help determine your goals and to make the changes you want to make.
Reasons to consider coming for counselling include: grief; complicated grief; being bereaved by suicide; experiencing feelings of despair, low mood; lack of self-esteem; lack of self-confidence; anxiety; fear; hopelessness /helplessness; relationship issues; work-related issues; stress; trauma; post-traumatic stress; loss; anger; feeling stuck either in life or emotionally………
I will help you work through these issues with empathy and compassion.
About person-centred counselling
Person-centred counselling involves exploring your own issues, emotions, thoughts and problems in a supportive environment, it is led by the client and not the therapist. You are the expert in your own life and person centred counselling supports you in finding your own answers to your own unique set of circumstances. This approach can help clients to learn to accept who they truly are and re-connect with their true selves. It can be a truly wonderful and enlightening process. The value in being heard cannot be underestimated.
“It’s your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.” Rumi
